However, I had my stock wheels/tires on and they don't give me any traction whatsoever.
We were both turning left off of a 4 lane road and heading for the onramp to the freeway. Since I had the left lane and he was in the right lane I would be closer to cars than he would, I had to make sure I got the jump and into second gear quick to avoid doing a 180 and possibly taking either he or other cars out. So, as I noticed he too was watching for the green light, I figured this could turn into a race and it did. As soon as the light turned green, I went. Second gear was short shifted and he was on the gas hard as was evident by the front end of his car mildly raising from the torque of his motor. As my turbo's came on, the front end of his car was about at my rear bumper when I suddenly lost traction and my rearend kicked out a little bit. Here he came, I shifted to third, and got right back on his tail through the on ramp. He'd beat me, but I often wonder if things would have been different had it been in the summer and I had my better tires.
